history

Bella Vista has no known founding date. It developed slowly in the middle of a sugar cane growing area, then came the railway line and finally a sugar cane factory, which gave the settlement its name for many years: Ingenio Bella Vista . The founder and owner of the sugar cane factory was Manuel García Fernández . It remained in the hands of his family until the 1960s. After the sugar crisis, it was nationalized by the now dissolved Comisión Nacional Azucarera ( CONASA ). This took place from 1973 to 1976. In 1977 it was re-privatized.

economy

In agriculture, the cultivation of sugar cane and its processing in the Ingenio Bella Vista dominate . They also produce ethanol and cellulose there. Bella Vista is also the headquarters of the Compañía Tucumana de Fósforos match factory .
