Bellechasse is a place in the canton of Friborg in Switzerland that is best known for its prison . It is located in the district of Sugiez in the municipality of Mont-Vully and Galmiz .
Penal institution
The Canton of Friborg bought after the first Jura waters correction country in the Great Marsh , order to set up a farm. The first prisoners were admitted there from 1898, and they continue to work in the farm to this day. Since the conclusion of a concordat between the cantons of French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino in 1966, first-time offenders have been imprisoned in the penal institution.
The most famous inmate was the former brigadier Jean-Louis Jeanmaire .
