Bellevaux-Ligneuville (German: Schönenthal-Engelsdorf ) has been a sub-municipality of the Belgian city ​​of Malmedy in the eastern cantons since the municipal merger in 1977 .

Under Prussian administration, Bellevaux and Ligneuville were given the names Schönenthal and Engelsdorf. Today, thanks to its fish farms that use the clean water in the Amel valley , the community is nicknamed the "Trout Capital" (Capitale de la truite).
