Belpahar is a city in the east Indian state of Odisha .

The city is located in the Jharsuguda district . Belpahar borders on Brajarajnagar to the east . The reservoir of the Hirakud Dam extends south of the city .

The national highway NH 200 and the Raigarh –Jharsuguda railway line run through the city.

The company TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited , which manufactures refractory materials, is located in Belpahar.

Belpahar has the status of a municipality and is divided into 16 wards . At the 2011 census, Belpahar had 38,993 inhabitants.
