Ben Briscoe

Ben Briscoe ( Irish Beircheart Brioscú , born March 11, 1934 ) is an Irish politician and long-time MP ( Teachta Dála ) in the lower house of the Irish Parliament .

Briscoe attended Saint Andrew's College in Dublin and studied at Northeastern University in Boston . He was first elected to the Fianna Fáil in the Dáil Éireann in 1965, taking the place of his father Robert Briscoe . After 38 years in Dáil Éireann, he did not stand for election in 1965. Ben Briscoe, in turn, was a member of the Dáil until 2002.

From July 1988 to July 1989 he held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin ). His father had already held this office from 1956 to 1957 and from 1961 to 1962.
