Bendigo is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . The constituency was founded in 1900, making it one of the first 75 constituencies in Australia. It was named after the city of Bendigo . The constituency is located in the state of Victoria, northwest of Melbourne . In addition to the city of Bendigo, the constituency includes other cities such as Castlemaine , Heathcote , Kyneton and Woodend .
Since 2013, Lisa Chesters of the Australian Labor Party has been the incumbent MP for the constituency.
