Benedikt Eppelsheim Wind Instruments is a Munich- based manufacturer of woodwind instruments . The company was founded in 1998 by the instrument maker Benedikt Eppelsheim as a repair shop.

The company specializes in low-frequency instruments such as bass and double bass saxophones . An in-house development is the saxophone-like Tubax (in Eb and Bb, the latter has the range of a sub-double bass saxophone ). On the other side of the spectrum, Benedikt Eppelsheim is the only manufacturer in the world to build the smallest of all saxophones, the soprillo (in Bb, an octave above the soprano saxophone ). Further instruments are double bass clarinets and a contrabassoon , called a contraforte, newly designed in collaboration with the instrument maker Guntram Wolf . Benedikt Eppelsheim also builds Sarrusofones as individual pieces .
