Benefield Castle
Benefield Castle is an Outbound castle in the village of Lower Benefield between the towns of Corby and Oundle in the English county of Northamptonshire .
Originally there was a Norman manor house at this point . A stone ringwork fortress was built there in the 13th century. It was given up again at the beginning of the 14th century. Today a rectangular platform can be seen at this point, which is surrounded by a wide moat - the former moat . This ditch is in turn enclosed by an earth wall.
