Benjamin Fischer (born August 16, 1991 ; resident in Volketswil ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ). From 2016 to 2020 he was President of the Young SVP Switzerland (JSVP). He has been President of SVP Canton Zurich since 2020 .

biography

Benjamin Fischer grew up as the fourth of six children in Volketswil, where he still lives today. His father was a smallholder, his mother a pianist and piano teacher. Fischer is engaged and has a son. In 2010 he made the commercial vocational diploma and studied at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Business Administration with the degree Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Specialization in Economics and Politics. Parallel to his studies, he completed a professional training as an insurance broker VBV and worked in the field of insurance and financial advice. From 2015 to 2017 he worked in the construction industry, since 2019 in CRM . Fischer graduated from the tank / artillery officers' school in Thun and is a militia officer with the rank of first lieutenant .

In 2007 he joined the Junge SVP and in 2009 the SVP Volketswil. Since 2012 he has been the actuary of SVP Uster district and president of SVP Volketswil. In 2015 he was elected as the youngest member of the Zurich Cantonal Council in constituency XII Uster .

Fischer is a member of the "Commission for Social Security and Health (KSSG)" and from 2018 to 2019 of the "Supervisory Commission Education and Health (ABG)". He has been President of the KSSG since 2019. In 2016 he was elected President of the JSVP to succeed Anian Liebrand . And became a member of the party executive and the party leadership of SVP Switzerland .

Fischer positions himself nationally conservative, he is a vehement advocate of Swiss neutrality, national sovereignty, direct democracy, federalism and the militia army. In terms of both economic and socio-political issues, Fischer is part of the liberal wing of the SVP and pursues an agenda of deregulation. In terms of economic policy, Fischer's stance corresponds to that of the SVP majority, while on socio-political issues he usually gives more weight to personal freedom than the party majority. Fischer stands for a consistent separation of church and state and against the influence of religion on politics.
