Benjamin Gleede

Benjamin Gleede (* 1977 in Naila , Upper Franconia ) is a German theology and philosophy historian .

After studying Protestant theology , Greek studies and philosophy in Erlangen, Tübingen and Durham, he received his doctorate in Tübingen in 2008 with a thesis on the cosmology of Proclus in the discussion with Johannes Philoponos .

Since the end of 2012 he has been working as a research assistant at Silke-Petra Bergjan (University of Zurich), initially in the research project Studies on Translation Technique Rufins with a detailed glossary, which she leads, and since 2014 in the research project Controversial Orthodoxy, which she also leads . Critical edition of Theodoret's Haereticarum fabularum compendium with a detailed introduction. In 2014, he completed his habilitation at the theological faculty in Zurich in the subject of church history on the Greek-Latin translations of especially New Testament parabiblica. His main areas of work and interests are patristic text editions as well as ancient cosmology and christology .
