Silke-Petra Bergjan
Silke-Petra Bergjan (* 1962 ) is a Swiss Protestant church historian . She is Professor of Church History at the University of Zurich .
Life
After studying Protestant theology in Bethel , Zurich , Jerusalem and Munich , she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Church History at the Protestant theological faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with the work Theodoret von Cyrus and Neunicänismus. Aspects of the old church doctrine of the Trinity. Doctorate in 1992 . From 1991 to 1993 she was a staff member of the Faith and Order Commission of the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Geneva . She was a research assistant from 1993 to 1999 at the Institute for Early Christianity and Antiquity at the Theological Faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin , where she worked with the work Der vorsorgliche Gott. The concept of the Pronoia of God in the Greek apologetic literature of the ancient Church. was habilitated . As a visiting fellow / visiting scholar, she conducted research from 1999 to 2000 at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Religion / St Edmund's College , University of Cambridge . From 2000 to 2003 she was an assistant professor and since 2003 she has been an associate professor for the history of churches and theology (From the Old Church to the Reformation) at the theological faculty of the University of Zurich . Silke-Petra Bergjan lives in Zurich with her husband and two children. She researches theology and philosophy in late antiquity, the history of culture and mentalities in the 4th / 5th. Century and church historiography in the early modern period.
