Benjamin Renner

Benjamin Renner (* 1983 ) is a French cartoonist , animator and filmmaker . At the 2014 Academy Awards, he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Feature Film category for his animated film Ernest & Célestine, together with producer Didier Brunner . The film also won a César in the category Best Animated Film in 2013 . Renner also made the short film A Mouse's Tale ( La queue de la souris , 2008) and was an animator for Yellowbird ( Gus, petit oiseau, grand voyage , 2014) and the short films Bang Bang! (2014) and La vie des bêtes (2007). Renner learned to draw comics at the École européenne supérieure de l'image in Angoulême and then studied at the animation school La Poudrière in Valence . In January 2015 he wrote the comic Le Grand Méchant Renard ( The Big Bad Fox ), which he plans to adapt for television.
