Benno column

The Benno column is a memorial in Munich . It was created by the architect German Bestelmeyer (overall concept) and the sculptor Georg Albertshofer (modeling) and erected in 1910 in the Maxvorstadt district on the square southeast of the parish church of St. Benno . The figure was cast by Ferdinand von Miller .

The column is 11.60 meters high and was made of red porphyry . On it is an approximately three meter high bronze figure showing the Munich patron saint Benno von Meißen in full regalia .
