The Benz Pass is a mountain pass on the Trinity Peninsula in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It runs between the southern cliffs of the Louis Philippe Plateau and a previously unnamed nunatak 3 km northeast of the head end of the Russell East Glacier .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1960 and 1961 that were used for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after the German automobile pioneer Carl Benz (1844–1929), designer of the first practical automobile .
