The Berendrechtsluis (German: Berendrechtschleuse) in Antwerp is a lock in the port of Antwerp . It connects the port section Kanaaldok B2 and the adjoining port sections with the Scheldt , on whose right bank it lies. With a length of around 500 meters and a width of 68 meters, it has been the largest sea lock in the world since its completion in 1989. In 2016, the Kieldrechtsluis on the other bank of the Scheldt was completed. With otherwise the same length and width, this is about four meters deeper and has been the largest lock ever since.
