The Berg Mountains ( Russian Горы Лева Берга Gory Lewa Berga ) are a group of one mountain and two mountain ridges on the Oates coast of the northern Australian Antarctic Territory . They tower 22 km south of Cape Buromski on the Krylow Peninsula .

Aerial photographs were taken during the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947), a Soviet Antarctic expedition in 1958 and a 1959 campaign as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The scientists of the Soviet expedition, who also paid a visit to the formation from the air, named it after the Soviet geographer Lev Berg (1876–1950). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) translated this term into English on November 19, 1963.
