Bergischer waste management association

The Bergische Waste Management Association was founded on January 1, 1976 and is based in Engelskirchen in the Villa Engels or Villa Braunswerth , Braunswerth 1–3). The association is a public corporation within the meaning of the state waste law of North Rhine-Westphalia . Its association area includes the Rheinisch Bergische and the Oberbergische district . These two circles also make up the members of the BAV, whose district administrators take turns taking over the office of association chairman. The BAV assumes the disposal obligations of the cities and communities in the association area, with the Engelskirchen community and the city of Hückeswagen also having the BAV handle the entire process.

The statutory disposal tasks of the members, which the BAV takes on

  • Waste recovery and waste disposal for the association area.
  • Ensure stable and socially acceptable fee structure through the efficient operation of the disposal systems.
  • Update of the waste management concept on the basis of the waste management plan of the Cologne district government.
  • Comprehensive advice on ways to avoid and recycle waste.
