Lists on the subject

The Bergmann Simplex was a pocket pistol that was patented in 1901 by the German industrialist Theodor Bergmann . After a few copies were made in Austria , a company in Belgium was granted a license in 1904 . This weapon was manufactured there in large numbers until production ended in 1914.

development and construction

Experience from earlier Bergmann pistols flowed into the Bergmann Simplex . It fired a relatively weak 8mm cartridge. This allowed the weapon to be constructed with an unlocked breech . The lock consists of a simple single-action system.
