Mining damage

The mining damage science is a field of knowledge and research from the field of mine cutting . It deals with the local rock and soil movements and any damage to buildings caused by mining cavities. It describes the effects on the earth's surface and sets out measures to reduce and regulate mining damage .

history

The first books on the subject were published by A. Goldreich in 1913 and 1926 under the title "The theory of soil subsidence in coal areas" and "The ground movements in the coal field and their influence on the surface" by Springer-Verlag . Since 1931 mining damage science has been taught at the German mining faculties.

Today's tasks

Today in mining damage research, methods for

  • Pre-calculation of rock and soil movement over mining fields and storage caverns as well as in the apron
  • Determination of the forces transferred to structures or manholes during rock and ground movement
  • Mining damage reduction through mining management , dimensioning, building security, monitoring and regional planning
  • technical and procedural regulation of mining damage, preservation of evidence
  • Rehabilitation of old mining fields
