The mountain road is keel oldest and most visited entertainment street in the district Damperhof . It is about 300 meters long and extends from Holtenauer Strasse / Brunswiker Strasse to Kleiner Kiel , where it merges into Martensdamm. History

After the first nightclubs and discos had established themselves in Kiel at the end of the 1960s, the EX2000, later Charles Dickens, opened in 1970 in Kieler Bergstrasse, and the backyard at the end of the 70s, which, however, struggled with its drug and dirty image, especially among the older generation had. Therefore, for a long time they remained more of a focal point for scene and underground clientele. At the beginning of the 80s, the Bergstrasse experienced an upswing due to the international success of disco music and gained more social acceptance. When large discos outside of Kiel city center - such as MAX, Traumfabrik (now TraumGmbH), K7 and Atrium - established themselves as attractions in the 1990s, Bergstrasse remained the number one destination, especially for the rock and alternative scene. Clubs that are known to this day, such as the Tucholsky, emerged during this time. Today, in addition to various off-location parties and the pump, it is once again the number 1 destination for all party-goers from Kiel and the surrounding area.

Subway

The Subway was a well-known indie / alternative club and cultural center on Kieler Bergstrasse, which from 1988 to 1995 attracted a wide range of guests from the alternative underground scene. During a subway revival party in the nearby cultural center, the pump, in 2011, many former regulars remembered the characteristic establishment.
