Today's reports

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The reports today are a weekday information program of the ARD - Radio Broadcasting . The program essentially contains ARD correspondent reports on current topics of the day produced over the day, framed by live moderation by an editor. It is produced on a weekly basis by Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) and from Monday to Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. by the stations WDR 2 , WDR 5 , NDR Info and NDR 1 regional programs broadcast. Until January 3, 2014, the show was also taken over by Nordwestradio .

The reports were first broadcast today on January 2, 1979. Since the beginning, Wade in the Water , played by the Ramsey Lewis Trio , has been the show's theme song.

The traditional-looking introduction is striking. It is always carried out with the words: “It is 11.30pm. Here are the North German and West German broadcasts”, whereby the producing company is named first. Only after this announcement is the title melody played. The Norddeutsche Rundfunk uses the historical recording of the announcement, recognizable by the greatly reduced level of the identification melody during the announcement, whereas the WDR now plays a newly recorded version that is mixed in today's style.
