Berlin Township is a township in Mahoning County in the US state of Ohio , about 65 kilometers southeast of Cleveland . The area was first settled around 1810 and in 1828 the place was founded under the name "Eldridge". In 1832 it was renamed "Berlin Township".
The town's economy is dominated by water management , which is made possible by the many rivers and lakes in the region. Lake Berlin , which is a popular destination for excursions, is close to the town .
