Bernadette Ségol

Bernadette Ségol (* 1949 in Luzech , France ) is a French trade union official. From 2011 to 2015 she was General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation . Since November 2011 she has also been Vice President of the European Movement International .

Bernadette Ségol holds a Masters degree in Philosophy from the University of Toulouse .

She began her professional career from 1974 to 1985 in the Fédération internationale des travailleurs du textile, de l'habillement et du cuir . From 1985 to 2000 she worked for Euro-FIET (European Regional Organization of the International Federation of Commercial, Clerical, Professional and Technical Employees) in Brussels . From 2000 to 2010 she worked as a regional secretary for UNI-Europa . At the Congress in Athens in May 2011, she was elected as the new General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation.

At the Congress of the European Movement in Warsaw in November 2011, she was elected one of the Vice-Presidents of the European Movement International.
