The Bernadotte Library is the library of the Swedish royal family Bernadotte . It is located in the northeast wing of the Stockholm Palace . The library is maintained by the Royal Husgerådskammaren and is now a research library .

The library houses the royal book collections of the Bernadotte family with around 100,000 books. In addition to books, there is also a large collection of music . The Bernadotte photo collection, Sweden's largest photo collection, is also in the library.

The room in the castle was designed by Carl Johan Cronstedt (April 25, 1709 - November 9, 1779) and completed in 1796. The decoration comes from an older, unfinished library by Carl Hårleman . The premises were originally built for the Royal Library of Stockholm ( Kungliga biblioteket ), which quickly grew out of the premises and moved to a new library building in Humlegården in 1877 . After the death of Oscar II , a family library was set up in the premises. Initially the library was called HM Konungens bibliotek . In the 1950s it was renamed the Bernadotte Library.

On behalf of King Carl XVI. Gustaf opened the library to the public. Concerts, lectures and seminars take place in the library room. The BBC production Nobel Minds ( Snillen speculerar ) is usually recorded in the Bernadotte library.
