Bernard "Barney" Battles (born January 13, 1875 in Glasgow , † February 9, 1905 ibid) was a Scottish football player .

career

Born in Glasgow in 1875, Bernard Battles played football professionally from the early 1890s until his death in 1905; while he was under contract with ten clubs. Among his most famous stations include Heart of Midlothian , Celtic FC , where he played intermittently three times, the FC Dundee and the FC Liverpool . The latter was his only stop outside of Scotland.

In 1901, when he was under contract with Celtic Glasgow, Battles played his only three caps for the Scottish national team

Bernard Battles died in 1905 at the age of 30. His son Bernard Battles junior later also played professional football.
