Bernard Harvey

Bernard "Touter" Harvey (born October 25, 1956 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican pianist , keyboardist and organist . Today he is a member of the famous reggae band Inner Circle .

Harvey grew up in Kingston in the thirteenth district ("Kingston 13") and began to make music at an early age. In 1971 he played for the first time with Carlton and Aston Barrett in the studio. Harvey's first big appearance in the music industry was in 1974 when, at the age of 17, he played for reggae legend Bob Marley's band The Wailers for Marley's first real solo album, Natty Dread , keyboard and organ. He also played the organ on Marley's song No Woman, No Cry , which became a world hit.

Harvey later played for other reggae artists such as Burning Spear . In September 1980 he was asked again by Marley to perform with him on his North American tour; however, Marley was terminally ill by then and collapsed in New York City in the days when Harvey last met with Marley. After Marley's tour was canceled afterwards, the plans for Harvey's participation in Marley's tour vanished.
