Bernard Napieralski

Bernard Józef Napieralski (born July 20, 1861 in Ostrów Mazowiecka , † 1897 ) was a Polish organic chemist.

Napieralski studied chemistry at the Universities of Zurich and Basel . He received his doctorate from August Bischler in Basel in 1893 with the dissertation " On some secondary diamines of the fat series - to the knowledge of a new isoquinoline synthesis ". The reaction on which the work is based bears his name to this day as the Bischler-Napieralski reaction .

Napieralski is buried in the Powązki cemetery in Warsaw .
