Bernardo Ajzenberg
Bernardo Ajzenberg (born January 21, 1959 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian writer , translator and journalist .
Life
Ajzenberg has been a journalist for various magazines since 1976. In 1983 he graduated from the Faculdade de Comunicação of the Fundação Cásper Líbero with a degree in journalism and lived in Paris in 1985. The magazines and newspapers in which he published from 1977 to 2004 include Veja , Última Hora , Gazeta Mercantil and, above all, Folha de S. Paulo . From 2004 to 2008 he was managing director of the Kulturstiftung Instituto Moreira Salles , currently he works in the publishing management of Cosac Naify .
He made his debut novel in 1989 with Carreiras cortadas , which has been followed by five other novels and an anthology of short stories.
Bernardo Ajzenberg was part of the Brazilian writers' delegation on the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013.
None of his works has yet been translated into German.
Awards
In 2003 Ajzenberg received the Narrator Prize of the Academia Brasileira de Letras ( Prêmio ABL de Ficção, romance, teatro e conto ) for his novel A gaiola de Faraday ( The Faraday Cage ). With the novel Homens com mulheres he became a finalist of the Prêmio Jabuti in 2005 , which he received in 2010 in the category “Best Spanish-Portuguese Translation” for his translation of Martínez 'Purgatório.
