Veja ( Look! In Portuguese ) is a Brazilian weekly investigative news magazine . It has a circulation of over 1.2 million copies, of which 920,000 are paid subscriptions, and is published across the country by the Editora Abril in São Paulo . The editorial office is located on the 19th floor on Avenida das Nações Unidas in the Pinheiros district .

Veja is the “flagship” of Grupo Abril , the publishing house's holding company in São Paulo . The magazine first appeared on September 11, 1968 and was founded by journalist Victor Civita . It is the most important news magazine in Brazil and the third largest in the world after Time and Newsweek .

Veja publishes articles on politics , business , culture and entertainment . Columns on film , television , literature and music are also an integral part of the sheet .

In the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo , the sheet contains supplements entitled Veja Rio and Veja São Paulo , respectively , which deal with local events such as art and culture . Famous and very popular are the reports (for example here Veja Sao Paulo) on regional gastronomy, leisure and culture, shows and nightlife and much more.
