Bernd-Rüdeger Sonnen
Bernd-Rüdeger Sonnen (born December 1, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German legal scholar. He is a professor emeritus (formerly University of Hamburg ) and held a chair for criminal law there. Sonnen was involved in the DVJJ for decades , also as its national chairman.
Sonnen studied law at the Free University of Berlin and at the University of Freiburg and completed his legal clerkship. In 1971 he received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation on criminal law. This was followed by an assistant professorship. In 1976 he became a professor at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Social Pedagogy in Berlin. In 1978 he was offered the position of university professor for criminal law at the University of Hamburg.
In 1998, Sonnen became the first chairman of the DVJJ as the successor to Christian Pfeiffer . Theresia Höynck replaced him on this post at the 28th Youth Court Day in Münster (2010) .
