Bernd Hermann Bornhorst (born February 22, 1962 in Sedelsberg ) is a German political scientist and a manager at Misereor .

Life

After graduating from the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Friesoythe in 1981 , he first studied law in Trier , then political science , sociology and journalism in Münster. In 1989 he received his doctorate with a thesis on "Possibilities and limits of non-governmental-church development cooperation". He has been with Misereor since 1989, where he initially headed the Latin America department and is currently head of the department for politics and global issues. Since December 2013 he has been chairman of the Association for Development Policy and Humanitarian Aid of German Non- Governmental Organizations (VENRO).
