Bernd Reuther

Bernd Hermann Heinrich Reuther (born May 1, 1971 in Wesel ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1990, Reuther completed his military service with the Supply Battalion 110 in Rheine and then studied social sciences in Duisburg until 1998 . He then worked for a year as a research assistant at Minister of State Werner Hoyer and then as an office manager at the member of the Bundestag Günter Rexrodt in Berlin. From 2003 to 2006, Reuther served as deputy government spokesman for the state government of Saxony-Anhalt and then as associate director at Hill & Knowlton Strategies. In 2009 he first became department head at Duisburger Hafen AG and two years later at Hochtief AG . He held this position until he moved into the German Bundestag in 2017.

Party activities

Reuther joined the FDP in 1990, first became deputy chairman in 2010 and then two years later local chairman of the FDP in Wesel. From 2014 to 2017 he was also chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the city council of Wesel.

For the 2017 federal election , Reuther ran in the Wesel I constituency and moved into the 19th German Bundestag via 13th place on the state list of the FDP NRW . There he is a full member of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure and a deputy member of the Committee on European Union Affairs .

Private

Reuther is married, Roman Catholic and has one child.
