Bernd Riege (born January 11, 1941 in Jena ) is a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After completing secondary school, an apprenticeship in metalworking took place from 1958 to 1960. He then continued his education in evening school and worked from 1960 to 1968 as a metal worker and design engineer. From 1968 to 1971 he studied mechanical engineering / plastics technology at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and then worked from 1971 to 1973 as a mechanical engineer. From 1972 to 1975 there was again a trade teaching course at the Technical University of Darmstadt and from 1975 to 1995 he worked as a vocational school teacher for metal professions and from 1977 to 1995 head of the study seminar for vocational schools.

politics

Riege has been a member of the SPD since 1968 and was SPD chairman in Ober-Ramstadt from 1977 to 1987 .

From 1972 to 2001 he was city councilor in Ober-Ramstadt and from 1989 to 1999 city councilor there.

He has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since April 5, 1995 and deputy chairman of the Committee for Economics and Transport since April 5, 2003, as well as a member of the cultural policy committee and theater advisory board at the Darmstadt State Theater. In the state elections in 1995 and 1999 he was directly elected in the constituency of Darmstadt-Stadt II . In the state elections in Hesse in 2003 , he was elected for the last time (via the state list) and left the state parliament on April 5, 2008.

In 2004 he was a member of the 12th Federal Assembly .
