Bernhard Cramer (engineer)

Bernhard Cramer (born July 25, 1930 ; † November 15, 2011 in Darmstadt ) was a German engineer and professor at the TU Darmstadt .

Live and act

Cramer was working at Standard Elektrik Lorenz when he was appointed head of the EMK institute at the TU Darmstadt in 1981, where he took over management from the institute's founder, Curt Brader. Precision engineering and development methodology formed the focus of his research and teaching . He was particularly involved in the development of the “EMK-Pinky” solar car by the institute's students in the early 1990s. The solar mobile was developed as part of the project seminars on Practical Development Methodology (PEM). In 2013 the institute was awarded first place in the Hessian University Prize for Excellence in Teaching for this type of teaching. In 1995 he was adopted into retirement.
