Bernhard Dexel

Bernhard Dexel (born April 18, 1919 in Jena , † 2000 in Hamburg ) was a German architect .

Born as the son of the artist Walter Dexel , Bernhard Dexel did labor and military service from 1937 to 1945. From 1945 to 1949 he studied with Friedrich Wilhelm Kraemer at the Technical University of Braunschweig . Afterwards he worked in the architecture offices of Fritz Trautwein , Gustav Hassenpflug , Fritz vom Berg and Hans-Georg Tinneberg . From 1956 he ran his own architecture office.

Since the 1970s he has devoted himself to the fine arts.

He was buried in the forest cemetery in Hamburg-Volksdorf .
