Bernhard Kummel

Bernhard Kummel (born August 13, 1919 , † 1980 ) was an American geologist and paleontologist.

Kummel was professor of geology at Harvard University from 1952 to 1980 and from 1963 curator for paleontology of invertebrates at the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard. In 1955 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

He was co-author of the Ammonite volume in Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology in 1957 . In addition to ammonites, he also dealt with nautiloids . He published on ammonites and nautiloids from Pakistan, India, Nepal and Iran.
