Bernhard Preim

Bernhard Preim (* 1969 ) is a German computer scientist . He works in the fields of human-machine interaction and visual computing in medicine. He heads the chair for visualization at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg .

Life

Preim did his doctorate in 1998 in Magdeburg with Thomas Strothotte on " Interactive Illustrations and Animations for the Exploration of Spatial Relations ". From 1999 to 2003 he worked at MeVis (Center for Medical Diagnostic Systems and Visualization GmbH (MeVis)) and completed his habilitation in 2002 at the University of Bremen . Bernhard Preim is married and has two children.

Since 2003 he has been Professor of Visualization at the Institute for Simulation and Graphics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg . His working group specializes in the visualization of medical data and the planning of surgical operations. From 2013 to 2015 he was President of CURAC (German Society for Computer and Robot-Assisted Surgery).
