Bernhard Rohleder

Bernhard Rohleder (born April 12, 1965 in Neunkirchen / Saar ) is a German political scientist and association official. Since the founding of the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media eV (Bitkom eV) in October 1999, he has been its chief executive. Bitkom claims to represent more than 2,600 companies in the digital economy.

Life

Rohleder graduated from school in 1984 with the Abitur at the Leibniz Gymnasium in St. Ingbert . He later studied political science at the Saarland University and at the Paris Institut d'Etudes Politiques . There he completed his studies in 1991 with a Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies (DEA) with a thesis on the influence of environmental problems on international relations. He received his doctorate in 1996 from the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation on international hazardous waste management. rer. pole. Professional background

Rohleder began his professional career in 1987 at ZF Friedrichshafen GmbH in the Saarbrücken branch. After brief positions at Presseverlag Ploetz in Berlin and the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics in Potsdam, Rohleder switched to the Information Technology Association at VDMA and ZVEI in Frankfurt / Main in 1994, where he initially worked as press spokesman and assistant to the management. In 1997 Rohleder took over the position of Deputy Managing Director and shortly afterwards that of Managing Director.

In 1997 Rohleder was appointed as general secretary of the European umbrella organization for the IT industry, Eurobit. Under his leadership, Eurobit was merged with the European association of the communication technology industry Ectel to form the new umbrella organization Digital Europe . Rohleder then represented the German digital industry on the board there and left in 2006 as scheduled. From 1997 to 1998 he headed the rolling general secretariat of the World Association of the IT Industry International Information Industry Congress (IIIC). From 1997 to 2005 Rohleder was managing director of the European Information Technology Observatory (EITO / EEIG) market research institute. In October 1999, the digital association Bitkom was founded as an amalgamation of four industry associations in Berlin. Since then Rohleder has been the general manager of Bitkom.

Rawhide sits down u. a. against an ancillary copyright for publishers and against upload filters . He advocates the abolition of the NetzDG , more international cooperation on issues of cybersecurity and the use of digital media in education.
