Bernhard Schuler (born January 2, 1956 in Sigmaringen ) is a German politician. From 1993 to 2017 he was Lord Mayor of the Baden-Württemberg city of Leonberg .

Life

After graduating from high school, Schuler studied law in Tübingen. From 1987 to 1989 he was head of the environmental protection office of the Zollernalb district . He then moved to the Baden-Württemberg state government and worked in the central office of the Ministry of the Environment until 1992 and then as head of the media, legal policy and legal advisor in the State Ministry .

In 1993, the independent Schuler was elected Lord Mayor of Leonberg . He was re-elected in both 2001 and 2009. He did not run for the 2017 election; Martin Cohn was his successor .
