Bernhard Stahl

Bernhard Stahl (* 1963 ) is a German political scientist .

Life

From 1983 to 1988 he completed a diploma in economics at the University of Siegen and the University of Münster (Dipl. Kfm.). From 1989 to 1991 he completed the additional course in European Studies at RWTH Aachen University , Magister in European Studies (MES). From 1989 to 1997 he was a freelance lecturer in adult education for business subjects and management during his studies and (external) doctoral studies. From 1997 to 2002 he taught as a research assistant and project manager at the Chair for International Relations and Foreign Policy at the University of Trier ( Hanns W. Maull ). After obtaining his doctorate in 1998 (Dr. phil., Magna cum laude) at the University of Trier , majoring in political science and business administration, he was Director of Academic Affairs at a British private university (cbs) in Cologne from 2002 to 2004. From 2004 to 2008 he taught as a professor for European integration and university advisor in Serbia for German development cooperation (CIM / GTZ). After completing his habilitation in 2006 at the University of Trier, venia legendi for political science, he was a professor at the University of Stuttgart (Department for International Relations and European Integration) from 2008 to 2009. In 2009 he was a professor for international politics at the University of Passau . From 2009 to 2010 he was Senior Lecturer in the Master’s degree in European Studies for students from Israel and Palestine at the University of Düsseldorf . Since 2010 he has been Professor of International Politics in Passau.

His research interests are in the field of comparative foreign policy research with a focus on German and French foreign policy, EU foreign policy, especially towards the Balkans, and the Arab Spring .

Bernhard Stahl is married and has a daughter.
