Bernhard Wagner (engineer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard Wagner (* around 1940 ; † April 18, 1999 ) was a German engineer and aerodynamicist .

life and work

After graduating from a humanistic grammar school, he studied from 1959 to 1966 in the mechanical engineering department at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After graduating, he started working as a research assistant. He received his doctorate with a dissertation in 1975 and then began working for the Dornier company in Friedrichshafen and later at Fairchild-Dornier in Oberpfaffenhofen. There he headed the department for theoretical aerodynamics since 1982.

In 1984, in addition to his engineering work, he took on a teaching position for "Numerical Methods in Theoretical Aerodynamics" at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 1992 he was made an honorary professor.
