Bernhard Wehrli (chemist)

Bernhard Wehrli (* 1957 ) is a Swiss chemist .

Life

Wehrli studied chemistry at the ETH Zurich . In 1987 he received his doctorate there. Study visits took him to the California Institute of Technology and the Center national de la recherche scientifique at the University of Paris .

In 1991 he returned to the ETH and became assistant professor for aquatic chemistry , whereby his research group was at Eawag in Kastanienbaum . In 1997 he was appointed full professor . From 2005 to 2015, Wehrli was also a member of the management team at Eawag.

According to his own account, the Seveso accident and acid rain needed him to become a researcher.
