Bernhard Woite

Bernhard "Benno" Woite is a former German handball player . He played 46 times for the GDR national team .

Career

Woite grew up in Frankfurt (Oder) . The two meter tall and 115 kilogram back player played for the BSG Lok RAW Cottbus in the GDR league . In 1990 he moved to the then second division OSC 04 Rheinhausen in Duisburg . Three years later he rose to the Bundesliga with the OSC . Woite switched to Spvg Versmold , who had just been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga. He ended his career in Versmold . After his career he worked as an insurance broker . Woite is married and has one son. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the Spvg Versmold association.
