Bernhard von Hövel

Bernhard von Hövel (* in the 15th century; † January 20, 1449 ) was Vice-Dominus and Canon in the Principality of Münster .

Life

Bernhard von Hövel came from a knightly von Hövel family , who had a shield that was split three times as a coat of arms. His exact ancestry has not been established. He was first mentioned in a document as the canon of Münster on April 27, 1431, after having worked as a canon at the old cathedral in Münster from April 1422 . As Vice Dominus he can be traced back to August 23, 1443. In this capacity, Bernhard was the sovereign's deputy . He was the owner of the archdeaconate in Hervest and a member of the Domkaland. His successor in the office of Vice-Dominus was Dietrich Haver .
