Bernhard von Merveldt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard von Merveldt (* 15th century; † around 1510 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Bernhard von Merveldt came from the Westphalian noble family von Merveldt , which has its eponymous headquarters in Merfeld and from which numerous well-known personalities have emerged, including 22 canons in the dioceses of Münster , Paderborn , Osnabrück and Hildesheim . Its exact genealogical origin is not proven. The sources also do not provide any information about his life. It is known that he died before November 20, 1510 and that the Pope awarded the vacant Dompräbende to Johann Ingenwinkel. However, he gave up shortly afterwards and the canonical of the late Bernhard von Merveldt went to Bernhard's relative Gottfried von Merveldt .
