Berri (unit)

The berri was a Turkish measure of length and denoted a mile .

The measure was a further country mile next to the Agatsch and is given with different measures.

  • 1 Berri = 1475.576 meters or = 1666.667 meters
  • 75.3 or 66 ⅔ Berri on 1 meridian degree
  • 4 2/5 Berri = 1 mile (German or geographic)
  • 3 Berri = 1 Agatsch = 5001 meters

The measure was also used as a square berri.

  • 1 square berri = 2.778889 square kilometers
    • Conclusion: 1 square kilometer = 0.359856 square Berri
