Berserker is a German-speaking metal band from Berlin .
history
The band was founded in 1999 by Schröder, Costa and Andi. It was completed with Matze in 2000, so the official founding is given in this year.
From 2000 to 2006, Berserker produced everything itself. In 2007 she went to KB-Records and there produced 2 albums ( Schattenwelten , Revolution ) and a DVD ( Ein Blick in die Schattenwelten ).
In 2008 they hit the headlines because they publicly distanced themselves from further appearances with the band Frei.Wild . Berserkers withdrew their decision in 2010.
In 2009, Berserker separated from their label and switched to Sunny Bastards. Andi left the band. Costa switched to bass and took over the second voice from then on. With Linus, a new drummer joined in early January 2011.
For the 10th anniversary, the mini-CD God's work and the devil's contribution was released in December 2010 .
In October 2011, Matze left the band for health reasons. Successor was the new band member Mike.
The cancer of the singer and guitarist "Schröder" in early 2012 hit the band hard. All concerts from January to March 2012 have been canceled. After an operation, he was able to perform live again. Since then, Berserker has been collecting donations for children with cancer and their families at every concert.
On April 7th, 2012 the release show for the new album Reinkarnation took place in the Berlin Columbiahalle . This event was Matze's last concert and Mike's official entry at the same time.
As a pre-sampler for the 2013 album For Life Ready , the EP Berlin was published as a free supplement in Legacy Magazine .
style
While Berserker was initially in the German rock area, their style changed significantly in the metal area . They describe their style as a mixture of 80s punk rock , 90s true metal and German rock. Vocally Schröder alternates between growling and singing.
