Berthold Roland (Councilor)

Berthold Roland († 1428 in Lübeck ) was a German merchant and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck .

Life

Berthold Roland was the son of the Lübeck citizen Johann Roland. He belonged to the patrician circle society and was a member of the citizens' committee of the 1960s. He was the last councilor to be elected to the new council by the citizens in 1416. It was taken over in 1416 by the returning Old Council , who had been expelled in 1408 . In 1427 Berthold Roland was in command of the Lübeck fleet. In wills of Lübeck citizens he is mentioned more often as a documentary witness and as a guardian . He lived in the house at 12 Breite Strasse .
