Bertram Steinberger (born February 1, 1986 ) is a former Austrian tennis player .

Career

Steinberger played in his career exclusively on the lower class ITF Future Tour and ATP Challenger Tour . With six double titles on the Future Tour, he was significantly more successful than in the individual, where he remained without a title. In the first few years he mainly played tournaments on the Future Tour and steadily improved in the world rankings . While he was only once in the main field of a challenger in Graz thanks to a wildcard , he took part in challengers more often in doubles. He celebrated his greatest success in 2010 when he won the title in Alphen aan den Rijn . At the side of Farrux Doʻstov , he defeated the Dutch pairing Roy Bruggeling and Bas van der Valk clearly in two sets in the final . Steinberger was then unable to continue this performance, he only survived the first lap in Todi . In July 2011 he reached his career best with the 289th rank, in the individual he did not get beyond a 707th rank. He ended his active career in 2011.
