The professional association for curative educators - Fachverband für Heilpädagogik (BHP) e. V. , based in Berlin, is the only German professional association for curative education .
Tasks / profile
The association was founded in 1985. Approx. 5000 curative pedagogues are members of the professional association. The BHP is committed to the professionalization of curative education and represents the interests of curative educators in training and occupation as well as in social, labor and collective bargaining law. Furthermore, it supports its members in questions of labor law, further education and training and promotes the connection between theory and practice through cooperation with the relevant training centers. The BHP is u. a. Member of the following bodies:
- German Central Institute for Social Issues
- German Association for Public and Private Welfare
- Federal Association for Educational Aid
- Permanent conference of training centers for curative education in the Federal Republic of Germany
- International Society for Special Education Professional Associations Link adapted (National Coalition Germany)
- National Coalition Germany (National Coalition for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Germany)
In 2001, the BHP founded the European Academy for Curative Education , which is organizationally affiliated with the federal office of the association. She cares u. a. around the European development of curative education as well as networking, with the focus on education and training at national and international level. On the initiative of the BHP, the International Society of Curative Education Professional and Professional Associations (IGhB) was established in November 2005 and the International Archive for Curative Education e. V. Emil E. Kobi Archive launched.
The professional association is the publisher of the specialist journal Heilpaedagogik.de , managing director is Kai-Raphael Timpe.
